a short report of a trip along Karakoram Highway

Now, I`m in Kashgar, old muslim city located in west of Uyghur autonomous region. I arrived at Kashgar yesterday by the international bus from Sost ,boder city in Pakistan. Kashgar is a highly interesting city with different races,buildings, music from pure China, so it`s nice place for me to walk around.I can`t type Japnese letters in PC here, so I`m sorry that I write with my poor English.

So I`d traveled along Karakoram Highway from Islamabad to Kashgar, it`d been a liitle hard trip. When I passed Khunjurab pass located between border of Pakistan and China whose altitude is more than 4800m(!!), I got terrible headache and insomnia. In Hunza(called Kalimabad in Pakistan) I trecked in Mt.Ultar to basecamp where I could see the very big glacier, but it was very dangerous and sometimes difficult to find a way. I had to cilimbed up a cliff-like wall. I think it`s impossible to to get there witout a gide in this season.

However, Hunza valley was very beautiful place  and people there were kind, so I stayed there for 3 nights. While I stayed in Hunza,weather had been  very good, and everyday I could see the incredible landscape with snow-capped mountains such as Rakaposhi and Diran. Foods were also very nice in Hunza, so I had dinners everynight in Old Hunza Inn with communal atomosphere.It`s a worth to be called Shangli-La..I met  many tourists in Hunza who had traveld for more than 1 year along central asia or Silkroad and took a rest for days there. I didn`t stay in Kara Kul Lake, however I think it is a one of the most beautiful places in China.

Now, ,my short trip is ending. and I` get home back in Monday afternoon.
